Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the FATA merger bill appeared to be incomplete and this would will be a fraud with people of FATA. The People of FATA are suffering. PTI has always favoured the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it wants elections including local body polls to be held in the area. Tomorrow we shall be meeting to discuss it I am of the opinion Fazal-ur-Rehman and Achakzai will not agree, the government kept prolonging it not in the interest of the nation. Had it been for the nation the merger would have been done expeditiously however government allies were kept content. Therefore, tomorrow we shall sit and meet to discuss the matter with opposition leaders including those from FATA. If the government’s intentions are clean then we can pass a constitutional amendment and set a dialogue to move forward.
Answering questions Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the narrative Nawaz Sharif is setting is far more dangerous than his and controversial statement that was subsequently condemned by the National Security Council. Shah Mehmood Qureshi added that there was no consensus over the name of caretaker prime minister and no PTI had not been consulted in this regard.
