Underlining the matchless sacrifices rendered by Pakistani nation in the war on terror, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said the state would never fight any ‘imposed war’ again inside its territory..

“No other country or armed forces have done what Pakistan and its armed forces have done in the war against terrorism.

“We have fought an imposed war inside our country at a very heavy cost of sweat, blood and economic disadvantage. We shall not fight any such war again inside Pakistan,” Imran said while on a day-long visit to Miranshah in North Waziristan.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamer Javed Bajwa, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan were also accompanying him on this occasion.

Talking about Afghanistan’s situation, the prime minister said Pakistan was ready to play its role in peace process as it believed in peace beyond borders, especially in Afghanistan, which would ultimately help Pakistan achieve enduring peace within its boundary.

“We are for peace beyond borders especially in Afghanistan. We shall play our role in Afghan peace process along with other stake holders as peace in Afghanistan is critical for achieving enduring peace in Pakistan,” he said.

Later he addressed combined Jirga of elders from North and South Waziristan.

On this occasion, Imran Khan appreciated people of erstwhile the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) for bravely facing challenging and difficult times of terrorism.

He hailed achievements of Pakistan Army, other security forces and intelligence agencies for their successful operations against terrorists.

“A new Pakistan is in the making,” he said.
