Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik inaugurated Shelter Home for homeless people at general bus stand, here on Tuesday.
The shelter home would accommodate about 150 homeless people, he said this talking to the media after inaugurating the facility. He informed that free of cost meal would be provided to the people. He added that another shelter home was also being introduced at Multan Railways Station.

Chief Executive Officer District Council Iqbal Fareed would be the incharge of both shelter homes, informed deputy commissioner.

Responding to a query, he informed that a separate portion of the shelter home was earmarked for women and kids. Similarly, shelter homes have foolproof security arrangements and parking facility, he added.

On this occasion, special assistant to chief minister Punjab MPA Javed Ansari, MPA Zaheer Khan Alazai and PTI local leaderEjaz Janjoa were also present.
