Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan says peace has been restored in Swat as a result of sacrifices of the security forces, police and general public.

Addressing a function in Swat on Monday, he said terrorists perpetrated atrocities on innocent people of the area besides destroying educational institutions.

He lauded the role of the security forces in elimination of terrorism from the society.

The Chief Minister said the security forces have also launched developmental schemes in Swat for welfare of the people.

He said law enforcing agencies and civil administration will be further strengthened.

The function was also attended by Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. General Nazir Ahmad Butt and Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Mehsood.

On this occasion, maintaining security in Swat was handed over to civil administration.
